Brief history of Nefyn Utd
31 Dec 2008

The first recorded account we have of Nefyn is in 1932-33 where they played under the name of Nefyn Celts and played in the Bangor & dist league against teams such as Llanfairfechan (about 40 miles away) it must have been like playing in europe then.
In 1937 they joined the lleyn league from 39-45 there was no football due to the war
The team play again in 47-48for the last time in the lleyn league as they moved to Bangor & dist league again ,in 1950 the league changes its name to Caernarfon &dist and in 52-53,53-54,54-55 Nefyn won all the cups and the league
From 57 to 60 there is no mention of Nefyn in any league ,they reappear again in 1961 in the C'[von & dist league, they played there until being promoted to the Gwynedd league in 1987.
Promotion came their way again in 1991-92 to the then Fitlock league but in 95 had to resign from the league due to lack of signed players after losing thier manager
Nefyn had to start all over again from the lowest league wiith all local lads,,in 1999 were runners up missing by a point loosing the last match of the season at Deiniolen 2-0,every cloud has a silver lineing and the following season Nefyn ran away with league and also wining the north Wales junior cup for the first time in thier history beating Llanymsumdwy in the final at Porthmadog in 2001 they played in the Gwynedd league
